The First Tragedy

I received this short story earlier today from my friend Carl. This story came to him from an Orthodox Jewish man in Jerusalem and after thinking about it for a while, I thought it was something that needed to be posted here.  As Carl suggests, please see the Scripture at the end… “there’s more truth in this than might first meet the eye.”

Thank you Carl!

Everybody knows the first tragedy in the world:
Cain and his brother, Abel.

Now the truth is, Cain never wanted to kill Abel;
He just got angry at him. But he didn’t know
There was such a thing as killing somebody.
It’s the truth. He didn’t even know there was such a thing as dying.

“And this is what the holy rabbis tell us”
Abel fell to the ground
And Cain regretted already that he hit him.
He fell to the ground next to his brother,
And he began to cry from one corner of the world to the other.

And he said, my dear brother, my most precious brother,
I’m begging you, please open your eyes.
Please forgive me, I’m begging you a million times –
Please come back, and open your eyes. Read more »

An Original Creation

Realizing how amazingly unique each of us are in this universe should be put in perspective. Do you ever think God likes to use a rubber stamp to create? Just try to count the stars in the sky for example; “Astronomers estimate there are about 100 thousand million stars in the Milky Way alone. Outside that, there are millions upon millions of other galaxies also” and no two starts are exactly alike. Or how about an example closer to home. Look at just about any tree that has been around for a few years. Did you ever realize that each leaf on that tree, although it may look similar, is distinctive and unique unto itself. No two leaves on the tree are ever exactly alike. Each season, that tree produces a new canopy of leaves and each of those leaves are different from any leaf that tree has ever made. Year after year after year each leaf grown by that tree is absolutely unique. Wisconsin County Forests Association estimates that a mature, healthy tree can have 200,000 leaves each year living for an average of 60 years! For one tree that is about 12 million leaves! How may trees exist now? How many have ever existed since the beginning of time? God is truly in the business of creativity and everything He makes is an original creation – He created you!

I Am God’s Masterpiece

It is amazing to me how many people have the same difficulty I have lived with most of my life. The issue that God created them less than perfect. David said in Psalm 139:13 that it was God who created my inmost being; He knit me together in my mother’s womb! God, who created all things created , my spiritual essence and my physical being, He created me! So how could a perfect God create anything that was less than perfect? Searching on Google with the question; “Does God make junk” returns hundreds of thousands of hits. Maybe this feeling of being less than perfect is more common that many people realize. It certainly has a lot written about it. If you are one of those people who feels that God may have made a mistake when He created you, then you now know that He does nothing by accident and nothing He makes is less than perfect. Also know that you are not alone. Just knowing that God is constantly working on us to remove those things of the world that shouldn’t be part of our lives should keep us pressing in to all that He is doing for us, in us and through us. Below is a video by theSkitGuys that expresses God working on each of us to remove everything in our lives that isn’t Him.

I’d love to hear your opinion about how this video affects you.

Happy Fathers Day

Today many in North America celebrated fathers day. How many people really believe that Fathers day should be everyday? In reality Fathers day is everyday but, how many of us are willing to give our Father all the credit that is due to Him for as we find in Psalm 118:24 where it says; “This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” The greater truth then is everyday will always be Fathers day.

Happy fathers day to all the fathers who ever were, are, or ever will be, and may all your days be filled with the full blessing from your Father in Heaven.

Graham Cooke – What is church?

I have come to know an amazing man, Graham Cooke. Below is a short video clip (part 1 of 10) of Graham Cooke speaking at the Third Day Church Arising Conference. His subject is “What is Church?” One question Graham asks is; “if Jesus came to north America, could he be a Christian?” What does being a follower of Christ mean to you?

Please leave any thoughts or feelings that may have occured to you while watching this video.

Jon Voight at the 2009 GOP Senate-House Dinner

In an attempt to learn how to add or insert a video clip to a blog post, I thought it would be good to add this clip of Jon Voight speaking at the 2009 GOP dinner. He has a lot to say on the election of our president and he names many people who were responsible for the election results. Jon also names many people we should be giving proper thanks too for not giving up and staying the course and bring an end to the false prophet.  I’ll let him tell you the details.

After watching this video clip, how could anyone deny that many of our youth and the less informed have been misled into agreeing with the wrong people for the wrong reasons. It is like a con man and his handlers are running loose in the house.

Today is a Great Day

When I woke up this morning I did not know what was waiting for me. Like most days we wake up and get ready for the tasks we have planned to accomplish. Today is the day the the Lord, my God has made. How could it be any better than that? If we are willing to set aside our agendas and take position of what the Lord has for us and learn to agree with Him in all things for our lives, how much better would our lives be? A fullness unlike anything we can hope of dream for is waiting for us. The Lord Jesus gave everything. Do not allow what He did to be wasted by not grabing hold of everything He has for us. Seek Him. Abide in Him. Love Him.
